Lionville Community YMCA
We are looking for committed volunteers to support programs, activities, and special events for community members with disabilities. Learn more about adaptive programming at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: ymcagbw.org/adaptive-programs-ymca. The current offerings at the branch include: Open Doors. Open Doors takes place on select Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., is a recreational social night for adults with diverse abilities. The group participates in a variety of enriching activities at the Y and engaging field trips within the community. Meet friends, have fun, and develop a healthy active lifestyle, all while building confidence and self-esteem! Please note that the YMCA of Greater Brandywine does not pay for admission/activity fees during off-site activities for volunteers. Click on the link below to volunteer. After sign-up, the system will prompt you with next steps on how to complete your credentials based on the role you select. Appropriate attire must be worn at all times. All clothing must reflect the YMCA core values. Shirts must cover undergarments. Swimsuits may only be worn in the pool area. Sneakers or active footwear, as well as acceptable active attire, are required in the other areas of the facility.

The YMCA provides care for young children while their grown-ups are participating in programs on-site at our Y. We also offer childcare during our Parents Night Out events, where children are dropped off in our care while their grown-ups enjoy some time together. Volunteering in this area is a fun, interactive way to strengthen our community. Join us! Schedules typically run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. After completion for review of your project application in the portal, you will be able to view and sign up for specific shifts. Appropriate attire must be worn at all times. All clothing must reflect the YMCA core values. Shirts must cover undergarments. Swimsuits may only be worn in the pool area. Sneakers or active footwear, as well as acceptable active attire, are required in the other areas of the facility.

Volunteers are needed to move this important work forward by supporting our evidence-based programming, wellness centers, community outreach events, and more. We are looking for individuals to help support activities, classes, and programs for our ForeverWell population (active adults 55 years of age and older). Meet new people and support fun, creative ways to stay healthy with fellow community members. Schedules vary by individual programs and events. Please connect with the branch lead to learn about specific volunteer opportunities with ForeverWell. Join the Y team as a youth sports volunteer! We are looking for passionate, dedicated volunteers to help coach and support our practice and game day sessions. Leagues are typically eight-week programs focusing on fun, while teaching team play and basic skills. For coaches, volunteering requires an 8-10 week commitment for the season. Practices take place in the evenings Monday through Thursday, and games take place on Saturday mornings. Clinics and Summer Sessions typically take place 2-3 evenings during the week. You must be 18 years of age to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach. You must be 14 years of age or older to be a Game Day Volunteer. Appropriate attire must be worn at all times. All clothing must reflect the YMCA core values. Shirts must cover undergarments. Swimsuits may only be worn in the pool area. Sneakers or active footwear, as well as acceptable active attire, are required in the other areas of the facility.
