Upper Main Line YMCA

Night to Shine is a prom night experience for individuals with disabilities, organized annually by the Tim Tebow Foundation. For many years, participants in our adaptive programs have attended this unforgettable event, which fosters inclusion, joy, and self-esteem for individuals who may not always have access to such celebrations. This prom has a profound impact, offering attendees a chance to shine and feel celebrated in a space designed for their enjoyment and dignity. The Upper Main Line YMCA will be hosting a pre-party for attendees, and we are looking for volunteers to help create and support the magic! Volunteers are also needed to attend the event buddies after the party. Visit https://timtebowfoundation.org/night-to-shine. Interested in getting involved with party prep? Our branches across the association will be preparing posters and corsages on January 19th for our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. We’re hosting a special pre-prom party for our Open Doors participants on Friday, February 13th, 2026, and we need your help to make it a night to remember! Open Doors participants will enjoy a pampering and celebratory send-off from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. before heading to the Night to Shine prom. This event is all about helping them look and feel their absolute best while creating an atmosphere of joy and excitement! Volunteer Roles Include: Hair & Makeup Stations: Help participants get glammed up for the evening. Shoe Shining: Make sure their shoes sparkle and shine! Dress Prep & Steaming: Assist with steaming and prepping dresses so everyone looks their best. Dinner Service: Help serve a delicious pre-prom dinner to participants. Cheering Section: Be part of the excitement as we cheer participants on as they leave for the prom! Night to Shine Buddy: Accompany one of our Open Doors Participants to the event! Round trip transportation provided. Your time and enthusiasm will make a huge difference in creating a magical experience for our participants as they prepare for their unforgettable night.

Volunteers are needed to help with checking in families, fitting helmets, testing out the bikes, and more. The YMCA will support the distribution of new and gently used and restored bikes to children in the community. Children must be present in order to receive a bike. The event is by invitation only, based on a raffle drawing to the 800+ families who have applied to our Holiday Cheer Initiative. Have a pick-up truck or bike rack? Join the bike transport as we move 100 bikes from storage in Coatesville to the Jennersville YMCA on Friday. Transport help might also be needed after the event if we have extras that need to go back into storage. Have a passion and a talent for biking and mechanics?
